The European Kurash Confederation in cooperation with the Greece Kurash Federation, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Greece and the Municipality of Amindeo successfully hosted the European Senior and Junior Kurash Championships.

The continental event was held on 2-4 October 2016 in Amindeo, Greece at the city Sport Hall.

Players and officials from sixteen countries of Europe, the ones like Greece, Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, came to Greece in order to take part at the European championships.
